Awards

Our community has used the garden to raise money for Martlets Hospice by hosting a bake sale for several years running. We have also received prizes and recognition for our garden and it's contribution to the neighbourhood. Brighton and Hove City in Bloom awarded us first prize for the Best Community Garden. The aim of this award is to encourage a greener, cleaner and more attractive place to live, work and visit.

Donate to The Community Garden

The garden is loved and maintained by volunteers from the neighbourhood and is wholly supported by voluntary donations from generous spirits. The Garden receives no funding from Brighton and Hove City Council, but is very grateful for their hands-off support. The Old Market kindly pays for the water which keeps the Garden alive during the dry periods. Bottom’s Rest lends their pressure washer to keep the paving looking its best. The Co-op on Western Road, Pebble Trust, Sussex Police and The Old Market (TOM) have also made kind donations, but mostly the garden relies on contributions of all sizes from its friends, lovers, admirers and passers-by. If you would like to make a donation however small or large, just pop some cash or a cheque in an envelope and drop it through the door addressed to The Community Garden c/o either Bill Cowell.

With huge thanks from the Garden and all of its friends.
